David Shanley achieves QMS Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2008 qualification

David completed the IRCA Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training Course which provides a recognised skillset and qualification in lead auditing. The course teaches students the principles, processes, and techniques used for the assessment of and management of the 8 Principles of Quality Management and Quality Management System; and their significance for QMS lead auditors.

The learning objectives of this course were to be able to:

  • Understand quality management terminology, principles, processes, and techniques for the assessment of the 8 Principles of Quality Management, and the Quality Management System including their significance for Quality Systems
  • Understand the purpose, content, and interrelationship of Ithe ISO 9000 series reference and guidance standards, and the legislative framework relevant to a QMS.
  • Understand the role of a Quality Lead Auditor to plan, conduct, report, and follow-up an audit in accordance with ISO 19011, ISO/IEC 17021 and IOS/IEC TR 17022.
  • Be able to undertake the role of an Auditor in planning, conducting, reporting, and follow-up an audit in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 by interpreting the requirements of ISO 9001.

This course was provided by Kelmac Group, the first and oldest Irish IRCA Accredited Training Provider of Quality training in Ireland since 1994. The course provided was very comprehensive and a great asset to anyone looking to lead and manage a Quality initiative or department or for those seeking a greater insight into implementation and requirements of Quality Systems based on ISO 9001.
